Spelthorne Sports drew 2-2 with Wembley in Tuesday night’s Combined Counties League Division One fixture at Spelthorne Sports Club.

Wembley led through Ned Jones after 25 minutes and doubled the advantage in first-half stoppage time when Sam Langan scored, leaving The Spelly with ground to make up after the interval.

There was an immediate change after the break. Seanpierre Ortiz reduced the deficit in the 52nd minute and Sean McDonnell levelled a minute later as Spelthorne brought themselves back into the contest.

That second-half response earned The Spelly a point on home soil.

The result leaves Spelthorne Sports on 35 points from 39 matches, while Wembley remain sixth on 76 points from 40 games.

Attendance was 49.
