The Spelly closed out the festive period with a 2–1 home win over Spartans Youth in the Combined Counties League Division One on Saturday afternoon.

The hosts made a positive start and were rewarded in the 17th minute when Archie McKenna found the net to give The Spelly an early advantage. That lead was extended just after the hour mark, with Matt Bowers finishing well to put Spelthorne Sports firmly in control.

Spartans Youth reduced the deficit deep into stoppage time, but the home side remained composed through the closing moments to see out the result and secure all three points at Spelthorne Sports Club.

A disciplined and well-managed performance ensured a strong end to December, giving us momentum to carry forward into the next phase of the season.
